- To receive and transcribe all registrable documents affecting the civil status of a person.
- To transmit to the Civil Registrar General all duplicate copies of civil registry documents.
- To coordinate with the National Statistics Office in conducting educational campaign for vital registration and assisting the demographic and other statistics.
- To issue certified copies of registry documents upon request of any person and upon payment of corresponding fee.
