Two-hundred seventy three Municipalities in the Philippines have shown sterling performances and were awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance. Of these 273, ten (10) Municipalities were from La Union. And the Municipality of Aringay passed the strenuous national validation and assessment stringent criteria that happened last September. With this award, the Municipality will receive a 2022 SGLG marker; eligibility to the DILG Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to finance local development projects; and priority access to other programs and capacity development assistance from the DILG. Aringay was awarded the SGLG on 2018, 2019 and this year. There was a hiatus of the award in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments. The conferment of the Seal is the highest recognition and the most prestigious award given by the DILG to excellent and performing LGUs in the delivery of public service through compliance to pertinent national laws and guidelines.

Congratulations to the Municipal administration under the leadership of Mayor Benjamin O. Sibuma and Vice-Mayor Isabel D. Diaz and the ever hardworking Municipal employees as they look forward to the challenge of another persistently responsive and efficient public service enroute to next year’s SGLG assessment and validation.
